This movie was another Hitchcock knockout, due to Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. They really don’t make actors like Cary Grant anymore. Think. Are there any actors out right now that we could in good concience call dashing? Debonair? I don’t think so. I’ve been on a bit of a Cary Grant kick since we’ve watched this, and my Netflix thinks I’m a crazy person.The plot is different (no murders here, but a thief and a good one at that). Cary Grant’s droll delievery harkens back to when he did a lot of screwball comedies. He was so versitile!The film itself is shot beautifully and the locale of the French coast was an ecellent choice.My favorite part of the film though is the creative “let’s get around the production code” editing of the fireworks into a pivotal scene between Grant and Kelly. It has to be seen to be believed.
