I alternate between two viewpoints when it comes to Nicolas Cage. The first is that everything bad is Nicolas Cage’s fault. Everything. I’m talking costume choices and people getting food poisoning from catering. If Nic Cage is involved on the project then it’s got to be him, infecting everything and making the whole thing bad for everyone involved.
The other view is that a lot of the time, bad things happen to Nicolas Cage. I don’t think this film was his fault. He’s only as good as his script and his director, and in this case both of those things, well, frankly sucked.
Plot summary: Nic Cage is a weather man.
I’m not kidding. That’s all this movie is about. He’s a weather man who is divorced from his wife and emotionally divorced from his children. People throw things at him. He takes archery. We’re supposed to care.
And that’s where the film fails friends, because I didn’t. I don’t see how anyone could considering how unlikable every person in this film is. Seriously I don’t really understand why people would sympathize with this man in any of his downfalls, specifically because they are all of his own creation. Also, (not Cage’s fault) the whole thing is overwhelmingly blue and that’s all kinds of boring to look at. The whole thing is just dull.
